Book Review: Edge of Dawn by Lara Adrian

My Review:

I have read all of the stories in this series and I was pleasantly surprised to find out this one was about Mira, who we first met as a little girl who's gift was abused by those around her.

This story finds her as a very broken woman ever since the loss of the man she loved since she was a child. Kellan was her first everything. She is a Breedmate who has worked hard to make it as a Team Leader for the Order. Her hatred for the Rebels runs deep and she often lets her emotions control her actions. Even after Eight years, she refuses to let go of her love for Kellan.

After a rash decision leaves her demoted to babysitting a genius she finds herself kidnapped by Rebels. Imagine her shock at finding out the leader of the Rebels who have captured her is none other than the man she has believed to be dead for eight years.

The amount of betrayal and mistakes these two have to overcome is heartbreaking, but the way their relationship builds back up is beautiful.

This story is a great addition to the series and it even introduces a new enemy for the Breed which sets up a new battle that is imminent.

Love this series. Paranormal Romance at its best!

My Review:
Please note, this is book #3.

Definitely not for the person who is just looking for a quick erotic read. This book has somethings that will stay with you long after you put it down.

There are BDSM elements and they are a little different than what I am used to, but that is not a bad thing.

Aurielle's character was well developed and I enjoyed reading her experiences. Rory was not my favorite male lead. He definitely has his ups and downs and positives and negatives.

Book Review: Beyond Shame by Kit Rocha

I am blown away by how much I not only liked, but loved this story! I have never read a Dystopian Erotica book before and I did not know what to expect. I am a huge fan of Erotica and especially the innocent woman introduced to a world she never could have imagined, but Dystopian books are not always my cup of tea. Kit Rocha has managed to combine the two into one of the best Erotica's I have ever read.

Noelle has lived life in a world where she has been suffocated with the laws and wishes of everyone around her. She rebels and is punished in the worst way imaginable, she is exiled from Eden. Just when things are about to go from bad to worse, she is saved. She enters the world of the O'Kane gang and has her eyes opened to things she never new to dream about.

The growth in Noelle is amazing. The fact that she has to learn to not enjoy something because she thinks its what she is supposed to do, but enjoy something for herself. Jas is an amazing teacher to her and an amazing protector. He truly wants only what is best for her and knows that he needs to make sure he does not suffocate her like she has been her whole life. No matter how much he wants her for his self, he knows he needs to take a step back. Their journey together is beautiful!

Kit Rocha creates such engaging supporting characters as well and I just know that every single book in this series will be just as great as this one. I can't wait for more!

Book Review: The Fetish Box Part 1 by Nicole Camden

An enchanting eBook debut about a world where your fantasies come true and nothing is quite what it seems. Come on in to realize your heart’s darkest desire...

Virginal twenty-two-year-old Mary has just inherited a sex shop in Florida from her mother. After a long drive from California, she arrives at her deceased mother’s house only to be confronted immediately with two equally sexy strangers: the strong, silent John and the irreverent, taunting Max. She’s innocent, almost completely untouched, but feels a completely uncharacteristic pull to each man. Shocking even herself, she realizes it’s not an unwelcome desire.

Max is a playboy who knows how to give women what they want, but John… John might just be able to give Mary something even she doesn’t know she needs…

MY REVIEW

I really liked the premise of this story. Virginal girl inherits a Sex Shop from a mother she never knew. Apparently her mother was very in touch with her sexuality. The apple definitely fell VERY far from the Tree.

Enter two men who both manage to turn Mary on like no other men ever have. Here she is a virgin who has had no sexual experience and upon the first meeting with Max, she is acting like a common Hussy.

I really liked what I have learned about both of the male leads. John is scarred both physically and emotionally. Max is a total playboy. He has several "regulars" when it comes to women and wastes no time going for sweet virginal Mary.

My main complaint with this book is that it felt like half of a book. I would not recommend reading it unless you have Part 2 already in your possession. This part is mostly Mary deciding to give it a go with one of the men, but not much actually happens.

Book Review: S.E.C.R.E.T. by L. Marie Adeline

In S.E.C.R.E.T there are…
No Judgments. No limits. No shame.

Cassie Robichaud’s life is filled with regret and loneliness after the sudden death of her husband. She waits tables at the rundown Café Rose in New Orleans, and every night she heads home to her solitary one-bedroom apartment. But when she discovers a notebook left behind by a mysterious woman at the café, Cassie’s world is forever changed. The notebook’s stunningly explicit confessions shock and fascinate Cassie, and eventually lead her to S∙E∙C∙R∙E∙T, an underground society dedicated to helping women realize their wildest, most intimate sexual fantasies. Cassie soon immerses herself in an electrifying journey through a series of ten rapturous fantasies with gorgeous men who awaken and satisfy her like never before. As she is set free from her inhibitions, she discovers a new confidence that transforms her, giving her the courage to live passionately. Equal parts enticing, liberating and emotionally powerful, S∙E∙C∙R∙E∙T is a world where fantasy becomes reality.

MY REVIEW:

This is an intriguing read. How often do you hear of women in their 30's or 40's who seem to have lost that spark? They have been divorced, don't feel sexy, low confidence, the list goes on. The S.E.C.R.E.T society aims to give these women back what they may have lost or never had in the first place.

Cassie is the perfect candidate for the program only she doesn't know it. The way these women select their candidates is not at all what you would think. It is not based on money or how much they can bring to the table, but by how much they truly need their awakening.

Cassie's journey is an eye-opening one. Step by Step we are with her. I'm not going to lie, there were times when I wanted Cassie to just leave the program and grab on to one of the many male specimen she interacted with, but the way the story unfolded was quite perfect in the end. Except for, well the abrupt end. You think you are getting a nice little bow on top and then bamm. What would it be without a cliffhanger huh? This is to be a series, and I honestly think it could have ended with just the one book, but now that the twist has happened I am very excited to see what is in store for us next!
