Review: Safeword: Davenport by Candace Blevins

Dana has never submitted to anyone but her husband -- he trained her, taught her to submit. He's been dead a year and a half though, and she's beginning to consider the possibility of dating again. She sticks to vanilla at first, but quickly realizes she's going to need more. As she's considering the idea of finding someone who would enjoy hurting her without requiring her submission, her life is complicated by a Dom who pushes all of her buttons
Safeword: Davenport is the first half of Dana's story, it's the personal part of her journey, and has a Happy for Now ending. Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon is scheduled for release August 3, 2012, and will give the rest of her story.
Warning: This title contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, bondage, intense sensory deprivation, extreme electrical play, and the use of toys including clamps, canes, plugs, cages, paddles, whips, and floggers.

My Review:
When even the parts of the story that are not directly involving sexual acts are steamy, you know its going to be a STEAMY read! Candace Blevins really delivers a multi-layered BDSM novel in this book.

Dana lost her husband, who taught her everything she knows about submitting and her masochistic tendencies 18months ago. She has come to terms with the fact that the part of her life that contained her submission for another was over.

The very first meeting with Zach makes her face her undeniable attraction for another man in ways she hadn't felt since her husband. The more she learns about Zach, the more she is turned on.

Zach had to bury his wife and is in the process of making changes in his house so that her presence is not so strong in every single room. He has no idea the chemistry he will feel for the interior designer he hires.

The descriptions of the difference between Masochism and Submissiveness is great to read about. Often times its one or the other and authors don't go as in depth as Blevins does. The journey of self-discovery for Dana really makes this story. She goes through so many ups and downs and second guesses everything while learning so much about herself and her needs.

Just when you think you understand where this story is going, Blevins throws you for a loop in the form of Brent and Jacob. Being able to have a secondary relationship to dissect really adds to the story as a whole. The complicated relationships between all couples in this story really feels like just the tip of the iceberg and the sequel will definitely be on my Next To Be Read list!

There is some hardcore TPE (Total Power Exchange) that may not be for the faint of heart when it comes to BDSM, but everything in this story adds to it as a whole. Pay attention to this an the Warning in the Synopsis to make sure this is the story for you. If you do not have an issue with any of these things, you will definitely find this a Fantastic Read!

REVIEW: Eternal Bliss by Bonnie Sansom

Being a wedding planner with altar issues isn’t exactly good for business. Laine Peyton-Stanton has everything she needs. Money to burn, a thriving wedding boutique, a five thousand square foot house to herself, but the only thing missing is the husband she was supposed to have that left her at the altar a year ago. Leary of relationships, she hesitates getting back into one. On her way to work a traffic jam forced her to take an alternate route, where she met Kyle Logan quite by accident. Great, her day just got so much better. Not.

Minding his own business, Kyle Logan, a fire fighter for Atlanta, has no idea he’s about to meet the woman of his dreams. He’s been looking for the right woman to settle down with and hadn’t been having any luck until a woman in a Prius crashes right in front of him. She’s a bit of a bitch, but that makes the Dom in him want to tame her. He’s determined to win her over, but they don’t even know each other’s names.

What started off as a one night stand quickly develops into something more and one broken glow-in-the-dark lollipop condom could keep them together forever, until Kyle has an accident and lands himself in a coma. Will he recover and remember Laine and what they had or will he lose her forever?

My Review:
Do you like a little quirky and a lot of sweet with your Naughty??? If so, this is definitely the book from you. Bonnie Sansom immediately manages to connect readers to main character Laine!

Laine is having a bad day and she is pretty sure she has just had one of the most embarrassing moments of her life in front of the sexiest guy she has ever seen! Kyle is having a typical day at work when an accident happens right in front of him and he is captivated by the beauty involved in the accident.

The connection between Kyle and Laine is undeniable and their bad luck is heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time. There are a few main supporting characters, one who deserves a good kick in the a**, but every one of the characters is well developed and multi-dimensional.

With more passion and more depth than most contemporary erotica books, Bonnie manages to keep readers guessing the whole way. Be prepared to experience a wide range of emotions right along with the characters.

Review: Riding Rodeo by Emma Lai

The last person Amanda Goodson expected to walk into her bakery was Sean Cassidy, the bareback bronc rider who rode her hard one night and left without a good-bye the next day. Eager to right the biggest mistake of his life, he finds Amanda–and learns he has competition. Never one to back down from a challenge, he offers to fulfill her darkest fantasy–taking two cowboys for a ride.

My Review:

Amanda had the night of her life with a Rodeo Cowboy which lead to major disappointment when he walked out on her like it was nothing! Sean made a mistake when he walked out on Amanda and it took 18months and a career ending injury for him to realize it. When Sean returns, Amanda gives Sean the cold shoulder and decides she needs to jump in bed with another hot cowboy to take her mind off of him.

Sean and Amanda's connection was believable, it wasn't just about a wild night for either one of them. Sean goes out of his way to prove to Amanda that he messed up and wants to reconnect with her for more than just a night. Bret was a hot supporting character who gets roped into a menage he cant refuse.

There is not an abundance of sex scenes due to this being a Novella, but the substance was more than enough to satisfy the reader.

Christie Lovejoy is normally all business. But when a hurricane bears down on the exclusive resort she's sharing with two sexy businessmen, it's time to throw caution to the tropical winds. How often do you find two gorgeous men with the hots for you…and the willingness to share?

Wolf Martin and Jon Tucker have been friends for years, and their taste in women has never overlapped…until now. Wolf, Jon, and Christie use the luxurious resort to take the kind of sensual journey that only total isolation will allow. But when the storm recedes, will they be ready to leave their island paradise?

My Review:
Christie is a woman who is determined to get what she wants. When the opportunity presents itself, she orchestrates things in her favor by stranding herself on an island with two men she has lusted over.  The fact that their situation seems to have been staged does not get past Wolf and Jon and they are more than willing to give her what she wants.

There is a perfect mix of one on one and menage scenes that give this novella a nice variety. Christie came on a little strong in the beginning, but she was so incredibly in tune with her desires. As with any situation with one girl and two guys, there is a bit of competition between Wolf and Jon which made for a great additional element to the story.

Complete with an abundant amount of sex scenes, light bondage, and off the charts passion between the characters, this is definitely a straight to the point erotic menage novella you don't want to miss!

REVIEW: Whipped Puppy by L.C. Dean

Title: Whipped Puppy
Author: L.C. Dean
Date Published: 5/31/12

Synopsis:

Desire for the dark-haired beauty who offers to teach him how to be a good sub sends shivers through John, but her demands unsettle him more than he cares to admit. Left with nowhere to run and nothing to hide behind except the power of her gentle command, can he be all that she needs without losing himself, or will he become nothing more than a temporary plaything to be left behind with the rally rubbish?

My Rating:

Kink Rating:
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

My Review:
Short and Steamy and Straight to the Point!

When Katalina first sees John on the street he exudes everything that is submissive. She knows she must have him and pounces immediately. When Katalina first approaches John, he sees an opportunity to live out a fantasy he has always had.

The progression of events in this short story is perfect. A little bit of anticipation as their first meeting is drawn out. Katalina's realization that John isn't experienced in the BDSM world and her overwhelming desire to train him to be hers. The fact that John is a submissive with a bit of a bite added something to his character. Which all leads up to extremely HOT sexual chemistry!

The BDSM elements are definitely there. Not to the extreme, but that is to be expected with John's inexperience. The fact that John was the inexperienced one in this and his Domme had to teach him was a nice twist on most stories out there.

PROMO: The Progeny Series

Today's Blog Tour is Presented by FMB Book Tours!

Author Bio:
Ashlynne Laynne has always had a soft spot in her heart for vampires but grew tired of the garlic fearing, sun loathing creatures of old. An avid horror movie fan, she tends to enjoy media and music that is of a younger, more eclectic nature. This was the catalyst for her writing The Progeny Series. The vampire/witch pairing is unique and different when most books pair vampires with werewolves.

The infinite possibilities, for such a wicked and unique couple, intrigued her. There is no shortage of romance, steam and surprises in The Progeny. These books are for adults and contain adult sensuality and themes, but minimal profanity. She loves writing on the edge and teetering between the erotica and romance genres. She thinks of Ascher and Shauna as the damned version of Romeo and Juliet.

In her spare time, Ashlynne enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. She juggles the hats of wife, mother, full time employee and part-time writer, hoping to write full time one day soon.

Ashlynne lives in North Carolina with her husband and teenage son.

REVIEW: Try Me by Olivia Cunning

Title: Try Me (One Night With Soul Regret #1)
Author: Olivia Cunning
Date Published:6/26/12

Synopsis:
For the five sexy rock gods of Sole Regret, finding love is easy, keeping it is hard.

Melanie has no desire to meet the members of the rock band, Sole Regret, but her groupie of a best friend gets them both backstage and then rushes off with the band’s lead singer. Left alone at an after party with a bunch of scary tattooed and pierced metal-heads, sheltered Melanie is relieved when the only normal-looking guy in the room insists on keeping her company.

By the time Melanie discovers that Gabe is the band’s drummer and not as normal as she assumed, she has already made a complete fool of herself. She can’t help but be interested in him, not as a rock star, but as the sexiest man she’s ever encountered. Strangely attracted to his hidden tattoos and body piercing, she wonders what it would be like to spend a night with a bad boy.

Gabe is more than willing to show sweet Melanie there’s more to him than meets the eye. All she has to do is try him. Will they only share a single night of passion? Or will their hearts entangle as quickly as their bodies?

Try Me is the first erotic novella in Olivia Cunning’s One Night with Sole Regret series.

Contains explicit sex, graphic language, and a hot rock star with a naughty and inventive mind

My Rating:

My Review:
Okay, first of all I absolutely loved Melanie's personality. The way she enteracted with everyone in the story just made me smile. She has no problem telling Nikki how she feels about "rockstars and tattoos", then she has no problem telling the lead singer of the band who most girls lust over at first sight how she feels about him. I think there is something so endearing about her as a character and Gabe definitely saw it too.

Gabe is also a rockstar, but Melanie is loving their conversation and banter and soon finds that her perceptions may not be what they seem. I think the development of their relationship, though quick in most peoples terms, actually flowed quite smoothly.

Boy oh boy were they HOTT together! Just a WARNING To anyone picking this up, it is on the short side, but that does not take away any of the steaminess! You will be left wanting more and you will be left wanting to read about the other members of Soul Regret!

I think this series is a great way for Olivia Cunning to keep readers appeased in between the Sinners books. ; )
