Blog Tour: Selling God's Way

Maximize Your Income And Business Relationships

Business / Economics / Christian Living

Date Published: June 16, 2026

Publisher: Lucid Books Publishing

Selling God’s Way is a book that explains how to apply biblical principles to all aspects of professional selling: Prospecting, Questioning, Presenting, Closing, Servicing, and Handling Objections. Filled with biblical scripture and stories, the book presents the best way for any salesperson to maximize their income and business relationships, regardless of religion. Many people all over the world, and throughout all of time, believe that biblical wisdom remains the most valuable forever.

Excerpt

Overcoming Objections

Whenever a prospect stops or stalls a sales process, it’s because of one or more objections, which may be communicated or uncommunicated. However, our needs as salespeople require us to complete sales processes, stopping or stalling a sales process only when we deem it necessary. We must overcome any objection from a prospect, then restart the sales process.

Successfully completing this challenge flows from an honest examination of a prospect and the current sales process. Whenever a prospect presents an objection, indicating that they will not be buying, or by procrastinating, preventing the sales process from progressing, we need to ask them why. Doing this starts an examination of the sales process.

With communicated objections, we examine the prospects’ answers as to why the sales process can’t go forward. With uncommunicated objections, we must examine why the sales process stopped from another perspective. We can look back upon all that has occurred during the sales process or seek godly counsel from another person to gain a better perspective of our selling situation. We may find the reason why an uncommunicated objection stopped the sales process through social media or published industry news. For example, we may uncover via social media or a new source that executives and the priorities in the company have changed, or that a new technology has brought about a company shift regarding goals and focus.

James also says in the first chapter of his book on Christian living, “Do not be deceived.” Asking “why” questions places the entire sales process under scrutiny, so neither we nor our prospects get deceived. Under righteous scrutinization, we can ask even more questions to determine the validity of the objection and uncover concealed objections that may contain the real reason why the sales process stopped. We’re questioning to gain an understanding of what the objection is, why it exists, and why it ended our sales process. We need to find out if an objection arises out of facts, opinions, or misconceptions. We also need to discern the prospect’s veracity. Our conclusions about the prospect’s integrity will guide us as we attempt to overcome objections, leading us to confront prospects to refute or ignore objections. Our goal is to prevent the objection from halting or hindering our sales process (see James 1:16).

While asking “why” questions, we can begin overcoming objections by resolving any concerns that brought about the objection, refuting the perceived validity of the objection, or dissolving any importance attached to the objection. We do this by using the truth about what we sell and how we sell it; this tactic calls for an honest examination of what’s been occurring in all aspects of the sales process.

We must examine every phase of the sales process for righteousness and thoroughness. We need to review how we prospected for this potential buyer: Hopefully, we dug deep enough to find the right type of potential customer and are interacting with this prospect based on biblical principles. We must analyze the questioning stage of this sales process, knowing that we needed to gather enough of the right type of information to create a passionate, persuasive presentation. We need to dissect the presentation delivered to ensure that the solution presented helped to solve a problem or maximize an opportunity. Our presentation should also have met specific needs and been presented alongside a vision of the future that communicated a complete understanding of the client’s situation. We must review our closing actions, hoping to see a high-quality closing principle, program, and promise—a closing principle that expressed a truth that we undoubtedly hold about our product or service that’s directly related to meeting that prospect’s specific needs. The closing program should have sparked a sense of urgency, as it instructed or affirmed the action steps needed to complete the purchase, and it should have included a closing promise that predicted the outcome if the prospect adhered to the principle and followed the program.

It’s important to note that we can question prospects to clarify what’s been happening during the sales process. Input from prospects can be illuminating. If we discover discrepancies during our dissection of the sales process, then as people selling God’s way, we need to repent and begin again, restarting the sales process at the point we strayed from selling righteously. However, if we do not detect any deviations from selling righteously, then we need to continue overcoming objections by resolving concerns, refuting validity and dissolving importance.

About the Author

Michael P. Hamer is a lifelong salesperson whose journey in selling began at the age of seven on the streets of Gary, Indiana, where he sold eggs with his grandfather, a deeply religious man who helped shape Michael’s values and work ethic. Throughout high school and college, Michael continued honing his sales skills, selling products typical of his peers, books door-to-door in Los Angeles, and advertising space at a theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Michael graduated from Boston University with a degree in communications, concentrating in advertising and marketing. Following graduation, he spent nearly three decades in advertising sales within the radio and television industries in the Washington, DC market. Over the years, he held a wide range of leadership roles, including Account Executive and General Sales Manager.

In his final media position, Michael served as Sales Manager for WAVA Radio, a Christian teaching and talk radio station. Throughout his career, he earned numerous awards and recognition for both sales performance and management excellence. Despite his success, Michael observed a growing lack of service-minded behavior and people-centered priorities in business. Motivated by his love for salespeople and his deep commitment to God’s Word, he wrote Selling God’s Way to offer a faith-based approach to ethical selling that strengthens relationships, reduces stress, and aligns business success with biblical principles.

In these pages, you’ll discover how to:

*Break free from the patterns that keep you stuck
*Step into your strengths and uncover what truly drives you

The road is open. The next gear is yours to take. Will you join me on this journey?

Excerpt

Speaking of things that weren’t easy for me, I remember another early

moment in our marriage. Terina was growing increasingly frustrated

with my workaholism, my recreaholism, and the time I spent chasing

hobbies that pulled me away from our family. Thankfully, she had a

wise mentor named Mary who gave her simple but powerful advice:

“You have a choice. Trust Wayne and talk through your concerns, or

let bitterness take root.”

Instead of letting resentment grow in silence, Terina chose to speak

up. That decision led to honest, sometimes difficult conversations

that helped me understand the real impact of my choices. It also

taught us early on how crucial it is to have the right kind of pit crew

relationships. These are the people who guide you toward truth and

restoration, not just venting and division.

If she had chosen the wrong person to confide in, someone who

might have fueled her frustration instead of helping her fight for our

marriage, the story could have ended very differently. We see this

happen with people today. The wrong relationships talk you into a

narrative of destruction.

Terina helped me see that I needed to “release the wheel” on some

of my hobbies and work habits. Sometimes downshifting means

letting go of an old one!

If there’s one analogy that perfectly captures our family dynamics,

it’s the Bronco. Imagine this: Before marriage, Terina and I were like

two independent drivers navigating our own muddy roads in our

trusty Broncos. Each of us had our own challenges and victories.

When we decided to merge our lives, it was like locking our vehicles

together into one powerful Bronco, driving in unison toward a

shared destination.

Then our children came along. Suddenly, our single Bronco split

into multiple vehicles—Terina in one, me in another, and our kids

each on their own tracks. We had to fight to keep those two vehicles

side by side. Each Bronco felt the constant pull of external forces,

threatening to pull us apart. I remember times when the tension

was so strong that we found ourselves fighting to claim the wheel,

each trying to steer in a different direction. The more we fought, the

more we slid off track.

We had to let go of the need for individual control and work really

hard to keep our Broncos side-by-side on the same track! We had to

choose trust, and have an unwavering commitment to one another.

Excerpt

Foreward

It is both an honour and a privilege to introduce Teresa Ferreiro-Vilariño’s remarkable book, Navigate Cancer: Coaching for Resilience. My connection with Teresa began at IMD (International Institute for Management Development), where her transformative coaching work has left a lasting impact on our leadership programs. Over the years, I have observed her unparalleled ability to guide leaders through some of their most daunting challenges. Teresa’s wisdom and sincere empathy have enriched us all. It is also the foundation for this inspiring book.

Teresa builds on core concepts central to my own work—like the power of ‘secure bases,’ those relationships or guiding values that anchor us in times of adversity. She emphasises the importance of making deliberate choices and explores how grief, while deeply painful, can act as a catalyst for healing and growth. It is profoundly moving to see how she has refined these ideas into a framework uniquely suited for navigating the complexities of life with cancer. Through meticulous research and firsthand experience, Teresa has crafted a pioneering framework that empowers individuals to approach their circumstances with courage, dignity, and purpose.

At the heart of this book is a transformative message: while cancer presents undeniable hardship, it also opens the door to meaningful personal growth. Teresa challenges readers to shift their perspective, viewing cancer not as an enemy to conquer but as a journey—one that prioritizes empowerment, connection, and purposeful living. Her reflections on resilience and human potential are uplifting and deeply rooted in practical application.

What truly sets this book apart is its hands-on and reflective content. Teresa offers thoughtful exercises and tools that prompt readers to access their inner resources, engage in self-discovery, and cultivate secure bases. These tools guide individuals in aligning their decisions with their values and goals, helping them chart a path forward with clarity and confidence. While the principles in this book foster resilience in leaders in all contexts, I am inspired by how Teresa has adapted them to support self-leadership for people facing cancer.

Her insights are grounded in rigorous academic work, drawing from her doctoral research on coaching and personal empowerment. At the same time, the inclusion of personal stories gives the book a warmth and relatability that makes its lessons accessible to all. This seamless integration of theory and real-life experience ensures the book’s credibility while making its message profoundly human.

While this book is an essential resource for people facing cancer, it extends its reach to caregivers, healthcare professionals, and organisations committed to offering meaningful support to anyone dealing with cancer. It encourages us to see cancer not solely as a medical challenge but as a profound moment to honour the resilience of the human spirit, embrace growth, and reclaim control over our lives.

Reflecting on Teresa’s personal journey of facing cancer and the work we’ve shared, I am moved by her unwavering commitment to empowering other people. Her rare ability to combine compassion with actionable strategies. She has a deep understanding of self-leadership and leading others that make her coaching uniquely transformative. With this book, she offers a roadmap for confronting life’s formidable challenges with inspiration, grace, and hope.

Whether you are a leader, a caregiver, or a person touched by cancer, this book reminds us that resilience, determination, and purpose lie within each of us. No one needs to be a hostage to a cancer diagnosis. This is a must-read book. Read it fully, engage deeply, and let Teresa’s wisdom inspire your journey to recover the full joy of life.

PROMO: Garbage In, Faster

Why AI Needs Conversation Architects

Business, Nonfiction

Date Published: April 19, 2026

AI doesn't remove the need for human alignment. It amplifies it.

From the co-author of the #1 Amazon Kindle Bestseller Connecting Goals to Impacts and Outcomes comes a provocative companion: a book about why AI makes human conversation skills more essential — not less.

Organizations laid off Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches. Then they adopted AI. They eliminated the people who create alignment — and bought a technology that makes alignment more critical than ever.

The result? Garbage in, faster.

This book was written in collaboration with Claude AI by Anthropic. The entire manuscript was generated in under 60 seconds. But those 60 seconds only worked because of the hours of structured conversation that preceded them — and the twenty years of expertise behind those conversations.

The process of writing this book proved its thesis.

What you'll learn:

• Why "agile is dead" is the wrong diagnosis — and what actually failed

• Communication Debt: the invisible liability destroying your organization

• Why AI multiplies clarity AND confusion equally — and you choose which

• How VERB + NOUN syntax creates infrastructure for both humans and AI

• Why "context engineering" is Structured Conversations by another name

• The five conversations AI can never have for you

• How to become a Conversation Architect — the role organizations need most

• Five conversations you can have Monday morning with no new tools

Who this book is for:

• Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches wondering what comes next

• Product Managers whose AI tools produce beautiful, meaningless artifacts

• Executives who invested in AI but aren't seeing results

• Anyone who suspects that better conversations might be the answer

A companion to Connecting Goals to Impacts and Outcomes: Harnessing Structured Conversations for Customer-Driven Value Delivery. That book is the complete toolkit. This one is the argument for why that toolkit is now existential.

Structure the Conversation. Deliver the Outcome.
