The Real Gonzales: From Hungry to Happy!
Gonzales is a very special cat who’s the star of my latest book. I have the happiest news to share about him! His life has changed so much, and it's like a fairy tale.
Last year, Gonzales lived in a place in the Middle East. Life there was super tough for cats. Imagine having to look for food every single day, and even then, there wasn't always enough to go around. Cats often fought to defend their territories or to secure food. Many of them were very skinny and often got sick because they didn't have enough to eat. It was a really hard life for Gonzales, and he had to be very strong to survive.
But guess what? All those hard times are over for Gonzales! Now, he lives in a wonderful new home with space to zoom, and there are lots of trees outside to climb (or just nap under!). He has a new hobby now: birdwatching either outside or on the balcony, and he even has new cat friends.
The best part? Food! Gonzales never has to worry about being hungry again. In fact, he's a little bit of a food critic now. If he doesn't like what's in his bowl, he'll just sniff it and walk away. In fact, he loves chicken so much that he expects it sprinkled on top of his wet food. He also has a funny habit: he only drinks fresh water from the tap! He thinks water in a bowl is boring.
Gonzales loves spending his days doing what cats do best: napping. He finds the comfiest spots for a long, peaceful sleep. But when the sun sets, he wakes up, and that's his favourite time to go outside and explore. He loves sniffing new smells, patrolling the neighbourhood and seeing what's happening in his garden. If he doesn’t go out at sunset and stays in late, around 4 in the morning, Gonzales meows next to me when I’m sleeping. That's his way of saying, "Time for another adventure!"
Gonzales has found such a wonderful and safe home. His life is completely different now, full of chicken, warm naps, and exciting explorations. It just goes to show that every animal deserves a chance to be loved and happy. However, it wasn’t an easy ride getting him there.
