Blog Tour: My Story, God's Glory

This is a testimony of faith: real, tested, questioned, and ultimately transformed.

In this deeply personal journey, Taylor Turner shares her walk with God through seasons that challenged everything she thought she knew about faith. With honesty and vulnerability, she invites readers into her story, revealing what it truly means to trust God—not only in moments of joy, but in times when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, and beyond control.

Her faith was never perfect.
It was questioned.
It was stretched.
At times, it felt fragile.

This book is for real people who wrestle with doubt, who carry questions, and who have experienced seasons where belief does not come easily. It is for anyone who has ever wondered where God is in the middle of their story.

Though not a story of perfect faith, My Story, God's Glory is a story of growing faith. Page by page, one truth becomes clear: a relationship with God is not formed in comfort, but in surrender—shaped in the very moments that test us most.

Inspired by the call of Jesus in Mark 16:15 to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel,” this story is shared to declare what God has done and to point others back to Him.

If you are searching, struggling, or longing for something deeper, this book will remind you that God is nearer than you think—and that your story is not finished.

Because even when faith feels weak, God remains faithful.

Excerpt

I want to begin this final chapter by making something very clear: nothing in my story is because of me. Everything I have walked through, every moment I survived, every piece of healing I experienced, none of it came from my own strength. It all came from God.

I am not special. Everyone has a story. Everyone carries pain, heartbreak, and struggles. But my prayer is that by sharing mine, the strong moments and the weak ones, you are pushed toward Christ. Not gently, but with urgency. Because we do not have time to waste.

Let me say that again:

We do not have time to waste.

I need God every single day. I am deeply grateful for how faithful He has been to me, even in moments when my faith in Him was weak. This chapter is my attempt to share the things God has revealed to me through years of pain, grief, healing, and restoration. My hope is that this book and especially this chapter draws you closer to Him.

That is why we share our testimonies.

Jesus said in Luke 8:39 (ESV): “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.”

That is exactly what I am doing here.

And I hope it inspires you to tell your story too. Let’s start with faith.

Faith

Faith is a simple word, but it becomes far more complex when we have to live it out. It is easy to say we believe in something, but real faith is revealed when life becomes difficult.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:7–8:

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

When Alvin had his accident, my faith was not deeply rooted in Christ. I believed in God, yes, but belief alone is not the same as knowing Him. When hard things happened, fear took over. Every time bad news came, I crumbled because my trust was not fully planted in Him. Faith does not come simply from saying you believe in Jesus. It grows through relationship.

A relationship means communication. It means knowing someone, deeply understanding their character, their goodness, their mercy. I did not truly know those things about God yet. I did not understand how deeply He loved me or how much He desired to give me life abundantly. That is why everything felt like it was falling apart.

But when your roots are planted in Christ, storms may come, and you may sway, but you do not collapse. You know the Highest King is with you. Nothing can stand against Him. So, if you want your faith to grow, it begins with something very simple.

Open your Bible.

The GwaK, author of the writing on the wall—the stall wall that is, an unfiltered, unrestricted, uncompromising voice of self-preservation. Born a bastard somewhere in the 1970’s at a high elevation, among a-holes gaslighting him into their slave fallacies, he’s unleashed himself upon the page. His work is derived from personal experience, bringing the macabre into focus with ruthless phraseology leaving his readers with pink eye. With that, The Station is the first volume in an upcoming series entitled Resumé of my Discontent. These memoirs of angst, strife, and hilarious introspection weave the author’s bio leaving no stone unturned and no wallet untapped.

The crowd was a little ugly tonight. Not because of their glitter or makeup but because of their forced smiles. Bob White, who went by Birdie when he was performing, read the signs. Most of the drag queens were being protective of their dates and of anyone who looked fragile. Bob approved. Maybe he could lighten the mood. Tonight was his show. He wasn’t dancing every song on stage, but he got to couple with many of the drag kings and queens. Being androgynous as well as good at disguises meant only a few knew him with all his costuming in place.

Now, though, he was stripped to the waist and clad in jeans. Because it was his show, he’d chosen most of the night’s music. However, when he strode onto the stage, the music that began to play wasn’t what he’d picked. He caught CJ’s eye, saw the wicked gleam in it, and inwardly sighed. He had a choice. He could either dance to this country song or he could raise a stink.

He chose to dance to the het-suggestive song. He’d heard this one a few times. The other officers at the station listened to just about everything at one time or another. He did his best to turn the heterosexual-focused song into a gay anthem through the movement of his body and his facial expressions.

The Ravencrest Club, which was mostly a gay bar although all were welcome, seemed hotter tonight than usual, and Bob turned a swipe of his forehead into part of the dance. Considering it was November in New York, it really was warm in here.

He quit worrying about the heat when he caught sight of three men standing close to the edge of the stage. Two of them, a Native American and a Caucasian man with black hair, had their arms around each other. The third stood close to them but he looked distinctly uncomfortable. He had lovely light brown eyes and hair like wet sand’s deepest hue swept back from his forehead. He was tanned and fit and although he didn’t wear a skintight T-shirt, the leather jacket that he kept zipped showed off his physique. He was sweating. It gleamed on his forehead. Bob wondered why he didn’t show whatever he was wearing underneath. Maybe it was offensive. Or maybe he was embarrassed by it. Or maybe he just wanted to feel protected. His anxiety was almost palpable.

Bob didn’t examine the other two quite as closely. For one, they were obviously together. For another, they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Bob danced right up to the discomfited man, presenting his ass for either a smack or nothing depending on the guy’s nervousness level. After he’d danced there for five seconds, he faced his intended target again. To his surprise, the man was holding up a five-dollar bill and looked intimidated. Bob took pity on him and took the money with a bow and a smile.

The object of his attention flushed but didn’t drop his eyes, even when the Native American half of the couple nudged him. He gave off a general air of confidence despite the way he chewed at his lip for a moment.

The music ended then and Bob came back to himself. He hadn’t meant to spend so much time with this unknown person. He retreated a few steps and bowed to the cheering, whistling crowd.

Blog Tour: Almost There

A Collection Inspired by True Stories of the Jewish Immigrant Experience

Historical Fiction

Publisher: Acorn Publishing

Almost There offers an intimate, emotionally resonant portrait of the Jewish immigrant experience in early twentieth-century America. This collection of linked short stories follows individuals who faced the uncertainty of a new land, summoned the courage to navigate unfamiliar cultures, and endured the antisemitism that shaped their world.

While fictionalized, these narratives were inspired by interviews with Americans who shared memories of their immigrant ancestors. Their stories unfold against the backdrop of sweeping historical events, such as the Great Depression, World War II, the Holocaust, and the founding of the State of Israel.

Poignant and powerful, Almost There illuminates a pivotal chapter in American history and speaks to the timeless search for belonging, identity, and home.

Excerpt

“The dress is not for me,” Malka began, “it’s for Yossie.”

“I took your measurements yesterday, not Yossie’s,” Ingrid said.

Malka knew it was a joke, but she did not laugh.

“He spends all of his time at Ricky’s. That’s his best friend. And even though I ask him to bring Ricky to our house, he never does. I tempt him with rugelach. He used to like rugelach. But he never brings anyone home to meet me. And when Dziga asks him to help in the store, Yossie always has an excuse.” Was she complaining too much? Should she be sharing this with a Christian woman, someone she hardly knew? It didn’t feel right and yet she could think of no other way to get her dress.

“And a dress will make him come home after school?” Ingrid asked. “And help in the store?”

“He doesn’t even come home for supper. I make noodle kugel, his favorite food, but it doesn’t matter. If we were in Pilzno, he would come home for supper.”

“You’re not in Pilzno, Mrs. Godowsky,” Ingrid said.

“Oh, don’t I know that.” And Malka told Ingrid how she and Yossie had lived in Pilzno for three years without Dziga, how Dziga had gone to America to work until he could send for them.

“Yossie looked to me for everything then,” she said, “while I wondered why it was taking so long. After a while, I forgot what Dziga looked like, so I remembered him by looking at Yossie: the same big eyes and full lips. When Yossie smiled, it was as if all of the sadness in my life went away. We were so close . . . and now . . .”

“And now, you’re afraid of losing him.” Ingrid finished Malka’s sentence.

“Yes, that’s it, Mrs. Einarsson, I’m afraid . . . so afraid . . . of losing him.” She shook as she tried to pick up her coffee cup, then gave up when she feared she would drop it. She had never confessed this to anyone, especially not to Dziga, who worked so many hours he had little time for his children. To Dziga, this would be a trifle. That Ingrid understood seemed a miracle.

“He never brings anyone home, like he’s . . . I just don’t know.” She paused. “But if he could see me in a beautiful dress, the flowered one . . . if he could be proud of how I look, he would come back to me.” She fixed her eyes on the scratches that marred the dark surface of the table.

“It’s a terrible thing to lose a son,” Ingrid said. “Why, my own son, my Ernie, he’s . . . well, never mind.”

A hidden Nazi fortune. A disgraced Bletchley clerk. A mission no trained agent could survive.

In the ruins of post-war Europe, Sophie Faulkner only wants the past to leave her alone.

Once a gifted German-speaking clerk at Bletchley Park, Sophie’s life was destroyed when British intelligence uncovered the truth she had tried to bury: she was born Sophie von Adler, daughter of a wealthy Nazi industrialist. To reach it, Sophie must become the woman Europe’s most dangerous men expect to see: the cold, entitled heiress of a dead Reich loyalist.

But the money is only bait.

Drawn into a shadow war between British intelligence, American pragmatists, Vatican fixers, Swiss bankers, Soviet agents, and the remnants of the SS, Sophie finds herself trapped inside the very network she was sent to expose. About the Author

Jack was introduced to thrillers when Tom Clancy's The Hunt for Red October was published. However, for most of his life, he was a reader rather than an author. During the 2000 Presidential election as he watched TV coverage of the Florida recount with 'dimpled chads' and 'hanging chads,' he thought an election conspiracy would be a great basis for a thriller. It wasn't until 2020 when he retired from his career, which included management positions in corporate America and small business ownership as well as a brief stint in ministry, that he sat down to write Wayward Patriot: Preserving the Vote.

His unique approach to political thrillers rips headlines from the news and weaves them through a thrilling tale of patriotism, political corruption and crisis. He says, "when I see some major new issue or technology in the news I want to learn more about it. I enjoy sharing what I learn with others by wrapping a story around it that will engage and entertain readers."

He and his wife, Barbara, have three grown children and seven grandchildren and divide their time between Colorado Springs and Tucson.
